Chris' Private Minecraft Server

Why

Chris would love to play with his friends! To keep things safe, we've set up a private server where only invited players can join. If you and your friends want to play, just send me your Microsoft nicknames, and I'll add them to the whitelist. See the instructions below for details. This server works with both Bedrock and Java Edition.

Server Info

IP Address: 108.78.220.174
Port: 19132

You will need to get whitelisted

Just so we can keep things safe and sound on the server, we'll need to add your Microsoft account nickname to our whitelist. Shoot me a text with it at 415 852 0108 (Cristobal Vergara, Chris's father). Only need to do this once!

If you created a Microsoft child account for your kid

You’ll have to go to https://www.xbox.com/en-US/user/settings/privacy-and-safety and select “Allow” for every privacy option that involves online multiplayer gaming.

Nintendo switch instructions

  1. You will need both a Nintendo (paid) and a Microsoft (free) account in order to be able to play online.
  2. Go to the System Settings and set the DNS IP configuration for DNS servers to Manual for your WiFi connection. This step is required and needs to be done again if you use a different WiFi connection, although you’ll need to do this only once for each WiFi connection you use. Remember this when you’re at hotels, friends’ places, etc.
    1. Go to System Settings
    2. Internet Settings
    3. Tap on your WiFi network
    4. Change Settings
    5. Change DNS Settings to Manual. For Primary DNS use 104.238.130.180 if you want to keep the ability to connect to public servers or 108.78.220.174 if you want to use the private server only. 108.78.220.174 is absolutely secure and recommended. For secondary use 8.8.8.8
    6. Open the game and wait for the user to show up as logged in or log in if necessary. Then tap Play
    7. Tap on Servers
    8. Join any of them. “The Hive” seems to work reliably, if it shows up for you
    9. If the DNS settings are correct and you chose 104.238.130.180 as the Primary DNS server to keep the ability to join public servers, you’ll be presented with the following screen. “Tap Connect to a Server”. If you chose 108.78.220.174 as your primary DNS server, you should join Chris’ server right away without having to go through this and the next steps. If the DNS settings are not configured as instructed in the previous steps, then you will end up joining the public server you selected (not what you want if you’re following these instructions).
    10. Fill out the server information
    11. If you selected Add to server list above and gave the server a name, next time you can join just by tapping on it
    12. How do I know I joined the right server? When in the game, type the command: /server. The response for that command should be: “You are currently connected to creative. Available servers: creative, survival”.

Other consoles and Java Edition

Instructions should be similar for other consoles. For Java Edition, join a server and provide the server info above.

Commands (Kids)

When you join you’ll start in a server hosting a Creative gameplay world. To see all available servers we host, use the command /server. If you'd like to play Survival mode, type /server survival to be transferred to that server. You can use the /msg command to send messages to other players on the same server. Example: /msg .ChrisVergaraNie Hi Chris or /msg Hi everyone!.

You and your friends are welcome!

Please feel free to invite your friends. If you have any questions or run into any issues with the instructions, don't hesitate to text me at 415 852 0108 (Cristobal Vergara, Chris's father). Chris usually plays on Sundays around 4 PM, but the server is available 24/7, so you can join anytime!
